Aims to increase the awareness of demand occupations and ensure that high school students have a career pathway plan that is based on their interest and talents. Students are also provided with practical ways to explore careers and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Young Workers provides young adults paid work experience with a goal to bridge skills gaps and solve classic soft skills deficiencies among young workers.
Funding for this program is provided by the San Bernardino County Workforce Development Board through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Youth will have the opportunity to develop the skills and habits needed for economic and social success.
Young Workers will connect residents of the City of San Bernardino who are out of school and between the ages of 17-24 to the following skills building opportunities:
- Paid and unpaid work experience
- Leadership development
- Occupational skills training:
- Medical Assistant
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Pharmacy Technician
- Advanced Manufacturing
