During YAP’S 2010-2011 program year, we were fortunate to have an extraordinary group of members serve in our youth development and educational enhancement program. These outstanding young adults touched the lives of approximately 100 high school students in San Bernardino City Unified School District.
With the help of our members, our California High School Exit Exam prep students successfully passed both parts of the exam with a 100% pass rate in math and an 83% pass rate in the English Language Arts portion. Through our members’ educational coaching sessions, our Advance Placement/Honors class participants thrived as each student met his/her course work with vigor, a winning attitude and a thirst for excellence.
We are proud of our members’! They have exhibited a true passion for helping our students identify and trust their own intelligence as they gently coached them to improved levels of educational success. And we are pleasantly pleased with our student’s interest and ownership over their education because if it were not for their full participation, cooperation and willingness to learn and sharpen their skills this year would not have been such a great success.
The Youth Action Project depends on the generosity of individuals and organizations that enable us to make a difference in young people's lives. No donation is too small or too large for YAP. We appreciate everyone's contributions.
