Hundreds of community members, who reside in San Bernardino County, came out to raise awareness of child abuse prevention at the 4th Annual Community Walk. Sponsored by the Court Appointed Special Advocates of San Bernardino County, in partnership with the Youth Action Project, the walk honors National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.

Walkers proudly sported the event t-shirt, and waved banners that all demanded that child abuse is brought to an end. The walk began at the San Bernardino County Office of Education on “E” Street and ended on the steps of City Hall where former foster care youth shared their personal stories of life as an abused child and how a CASA volunteer helped them to dream again.

Youth of all ages participated in a hula hoop contest, arts and crafts and got a chance to play with a furry friend from the City of San Bernardino Animal Shelter. Children and family-serving agencies throughout the county readily passed out information to families seeking support. A free lunch was provided as participants enjoyed performances by talented local youth.
